In the Spring of 2005, leaders from the First Nations Summit, the BC Assembly of First Nations, the Union of BC Indian Chiefs and the Province of BC jointly agreed to a new relationship, one “based on respect, recognition, and accommodations of aboriginal title and rights.” One year later, the New Relationship Trust Corporation was created to help realize this joint vision by providing financial support to First Nation communities, organizations and individuals in BC. |
